Henry Mackenzie FRSE (August, 1745 – 14 January 1831) was a Scottish lawyer, novelist and miscellaneous writer. He was also known by the sobriquet „Addison of the North.“ (wikip.)

His first novel „The Man of Feeling“ was published anonymous in 1771. His second novel „The Man of the world in two parts“ followed as well anonymous in 1773.
